Written and directed by award-winning filmmaker Tomas Koeck, the Ocean State: Rhode Island's Wild Coast docuseries is a love letter to Rhode Island. An often overlooked and underestimated coastal region, Rhode Island, also known as the "Ocean State", is teeming with life below the surface and now you'll have a chance to dive into it with the second installment of the series on June 15, 2026.
"From seals to wintering waterfowl to whales, winter in New England is not as quiet as you think. Follow the rescue and research teams in Southern New England as they work hard to save animals in peril during this trying season."
Ocean State: Rhode Island's Wild Coast docuseries is written and directed by Tomas Koeck, produced by Silent Fight Studios, Ocean State Media, and The Nature Conservancy.
What to Expect From Episode Two
Episode two, "Tides of Change", will explore fall and winter in this coastal northeastern region of the United States. From humpback whales to striped bass, and many other organisms, viewers will get a closer look at not just the flora and fauna of the Ocean State, but, importantly, the people who are on the front lines of conservation work. Writer and director Tomas shares, "I'm proud of the amazing conservation organizations that we featured - groups including the Center for Coastal Studies, the Mystic Aquarium, and others."
