OM System TG-7 + Ecko Fiber Strobes Underwater in Yap

It's still impossible to beat the OM System TG-7 for the range of quality imaging possible in a super compact form factor. When paired with the RC TTL exposure of the Ecko Fiber strobes, it's ready to go from macro to wide angle with stunning results.

Ecko Fiber Strobes

With 140º angle of coverage using the included dome diffuser and a daylight balanced color temperature, the Ecko is the TG-7's perfect companion for everything from nudibranch to reefscapes. The integrated and proprietary RC TTL mode gives you extremely accurate exposure and instantaneous adjustment of strobe brightness for accurate color representation on every shot. Powered by standard AA batteries for the ultimate in travel ease.

WD-3 Wide Angle Dome

These images utilize the WD-3 Wide Angle Dome # 6430.3 which provides multiple advantages over other wide angle options:

  • Super lightweight and easier to maneuver underwater compared to wide angle wet lenses.
  • Extremely good edge sharpness for crisp images corner-to-corner.
  • Zoom through from wide angle to macro without taking it off.
  • Removable underwater for shooting super tiny critters with the camera's amazing Microscope Mode.

Housing Choices for the OM System TG-7

The Ecko Fiber Strobe can be used in RC TTL mode with the OM (Olympus) PT-059. The Ecko Single Strobe Bundle # 40101-TG1 or Dual Strobe Bundle # 40101-TG2 make it easy to add everything you need in one go. The PT-059 housing does not support the use of the WD-3 Wide Angle Dome.

If you want to use the WD-3 Dome - or get the widest view possible with the FCON-T02 Fisheye Conversion Lens - you'll need the Ikelite ULTRAcompact Underwater Housing for OM TG-7, Olympus TG-6 and TG-5 cameras. Compared to the PT-059, you'll also enjoy a deeper depth rating of 200 feet (60 meters), full visibility of the back of the camera through the housing, and laser engraved indicia that won't fade or fall off.

The shutter is positioned as a trigger-style lever for more ergonomic control when holding the side of the housing. Uniquely, the trigger lever can be extended to remain at your fingertips when holding an external handle.

Like all of our housings and strobes, the ULTRAcompact housing is designed, manufactured, and serviced in the USA. No manufacturer is more committed to helping you get good results. Check out our 1000+ articles and videos and contact us with any questions you have.
