Sony a7R VI Underwater Housing Compatibility Update

There are few cameras that are more capable and enjoyable to use underwater than the powerful new Sony Alpha a7R VI.

Compatibility

When getting the shot really matters, it's a good idea to carry a back-up camera body on your travels. One of the best things about the newer Sony a7- and a7R-series cameras is their cross-compatibility in the Ikelite 200DL Underwater Housing. 

The best news is that the Sony a7R VI is a drop-in fit to existing underwater housings model # 71479 and # 71479-DLX. Out of the box these housings are compatible with:

 

• Sony Alpha a7 IV
• Sony Alpha a7 V
• Sony Alpha a7R V
• Sony Alpha a7R VI

The a7R VI uses the same camera mount as the previous model a7R V.

The Sony a7R VI has already been underwater in Truk Lagoon- first results to be posted soon! 

Differences in control placement and lens position prevent the a7R VI from being used with or adapted to other Ikelite underwater housings for Sony cameras except those mentioned above.

Underwater Housing Features

The Ikelite 200DL underwater housing is designed and refined to provide professional quality imaging capabilities in a lightweight and travel-friendly body. 

Specially formulated ABS-PC construction is lightweight yet durable and fundamentally corrosion-resistant.

Direct-drive stainless steel and hard anodized aluminum controls are ergonomic and field serviceable.

It's easy to top off the camera's battery in-between dives with the optional USB-C Charging & Data Transfer Bulkhead.

True Sony TTL flash exposure control with Ikelite DS strobes and the DL2 Sony DS Link TTL Converter.

See the camera and the o-ring seal with the clearly superior, high-visibility Lexan back.

This housing is individually tested for fit and function and waterproofed to 200 feet (60 meters).
