Studying marine sciences in college, I worked in marine resource management for a number of years before changing careers and pursuing healthcare, but the underwater world is always foremost on my mind.

I've been fortunate to have traveled and photographed nature in a wide range of locations over the years, both above and below water. Starting underwater photography a couple of decades ago with a Canon point-and-shoot in an Ikelite housing with dual AF35 slave strobes I learned a lot about light and subjects underwater. Upgrading to the Ikelite housing and strobes for the Canon R7, my passion for underwater nature photography is rising to another level!

While I appreciate all life, terrestrial, freshwater, and marine, the diversity in form, function and the unique adaptations of invertebrates has channeled me primarily towards macro photography. My favorite dive habitats are cold, nutrient rich water such as the Channel Islands NP, Vancouver, Canada or my home region of New England.
