My name is Patrik Haltia and I am a 50-year old man from Sweden. I live in a small town called Karlstad which is located on the top of the biggest lake in Sweden, lake Vänern.
I took my divers license in 1998 and started to take underwater photos around 2015. First I used a compact camera, Canon G9, and no external flash. After a while I changed to Canon's M-system and a Ikelite housing with an external DS51 strobe. Now I've changed system again to Canon's R-system, more particularly Canon R8, with an Ikelite Underwater Housing and two external Ikelite strobes, one DS160 and one DS161. When it comes to lenses, I use Canon macro EF-S 35mm 1:2.8, Canon macro EF-S 60mm 1:2.8, Canon macro EF-S 100mm 1:2.8, and Canon's wide angle lens EF-S 10-18mm 1:4.5-5.6.
I prefer to dive in the ocean at the Swedish west coast or in the waters of Norway, but I also dive in freshwater lakes and rivers nearby my hometown. I have not been diving a lot abroad but last November I went to Moalboal in the Philippines and I've also done some diving in the Mediterranean sea, places like Malta, Italy, Spain and Croatia.
