Valeria Roati, originally from Turin, Italy, started diving when she was 11 years old and has felt a strong connection with the ocean ever since. After getting her Open Water certification she immediately started a Junior Underwater Photography course in the British Virgin Islands where she bought her first camera. She is currently a Rescue Diver working on her Divemaster certification. Valeria is both a small animal and equine veterinarian but always finds a way to enjoy the ocean and diving even if she is busy saving land animals most times.

"I have a deep connection with the ocean, whether it’s scuba diving or snorkeling, I feel like I’m being lulled by its noises and magnetic energy."

"I love underwater photography not only for the memories I’m able to keep forever but to also admire the behavior of animals."

"I love photographing macro, especially nudibranchs and seahorses, which I find absolutely stunning."

"Bigger animals like whales, orcas, mantas and sharks also bring a lot of adrenaline while I’m shooting with my Canon R7 set up with Ikelite Underwater Housing."
