Ariel “The Little BRRmaid” is a cold water diver in Seattle, WA. She started diving at 11 years old while visiting family in Kona, Hawaii and became certified at age 16. This inspired a passion for studying the ocean. Ariel later graduated from the University of Washington with degrees in Oceanography and Marine Biology.
These days, Ariel calls the Pacific Northwest her home and is a cold-water diver at heart. Her favorite encounters are the Giant Pacific Octopus and friendly wolf eels that call this cold-water paradise home. Seattle is also a macro heaven, including countless species of nudibranchs and the Pacific Spiny Lumpsucker.
Ariel teaches photography to others, both at home and abroad. In her spare time, she continues to expand and improve her photography and challenge the stereotype of cold water diving being "boring".
