Using the Tokina 10-17mm Fisheye Sony APS-C Mirrorless and DLM/A Port Mount

The Tokina AT-X 107 AF Fisheye 10-17mm f/3.5-4.5 lens is one of our all-time favorites for wide angle underwater photography. In addition to spectacularly sharp image quality and close focus capabilities, we love that it's so compact and lightweight for travel. That makes it a perfect choice for any compact mirrorless or DSLR system.

The good news is that this lens can be used on popular Sony APS-C mirrorless cameras in Ikelite housings utilizing the DLM/A port mount. This includes housings for the Sony Alpha a6000, a6300, a6400, and a6500 cameras:

  • 200DLM/A Underwater Housing for Sony Alpha a6300, a6400, a6500 # 6911.64
  • 200DLM/A Underwater Housing for Sony Alpha a6000 # 6910.60 / 6910.61 / 69120
  • 200DLM/A Underwater Housing for Sony Alpha a6300 # 6910.63
  • 200DLM/A Underwater Housing for Sony Alpha a6500 # 6910.65

Note that the lens requires the Metabones adapter to be attached to the camera. The tripod foot of the adapter must be removed prior to installation in the housing.

Using the Zoom Clamp

To access the zoom ring on the 10-17mm you'll need the Universal Zoom Gear for Lenses 2.8 to 3 inch Diameter (7/8 Length) # 5509.31.

Several thicknesses of rubber foam are included with this zoom gear set. Adhere the thinnest set of foam strips (1/16" thick) to the inside of the black lens clamp.

The 1/16" friction foam is necessary to ensure that the lens clamp grips the lens properly.

When attaching the clamp to the lens, make sure that the tabs of the clamp face the camera and are positioned far enough forward on the lens to avoid interference with the AF/MF switch when the gear rotates.

Once installed, push the clamp all the way forward on the lens' zoom ring to clear the AF/MF switch on the side of the lens.
