DEMA Show 2019 New Product Coverage

DEMA Show 2019 New Product Coverage

We escaped sub-freezing weather in Indianapolis to attend the DEMA Show 2019 in Orlando, Florida to show off our products and talk to dive industry professionals.

Here's the scoop on our latest and greatest direct from the source!

Ikelite DS Strobe Next Generation

Brighter, wider, and... smaller?! Yes, please!

Next Generation DS Strobe

Everyone was drooling over our new flagship DS strobe making its worldwide debut. This strobe kills it with 33% more flash energy, a redesigned front for maximum light output. It still maintains our signature smooth, warm coverage... only even wider!

We kept all of the things you love like the lightening fast recycle time, consistent performance over the life of the battery pack, plus durability and reliability like none other.

The new strobe will be compatible with existing battery packs, sync cords, and TTL converters. It will be available as a complete strobe with battery pack and charger or a strobe front for users looking to upgrade.

Coming in early-to-mid-2020. Click here to sign up for email notifications as we release more information.

Ikelite Housing Dome Port with Olympus TG-6 and FCON-T02

The FCON-T02 and dome port is a game changer for compact wide angle shooters.

Olympus FCON-T02 Circular Fisheye Lens

Olympus Tough TG-6 users are always talking about macro, macro, macro. But what about super wide angle? Don't want to lug around a wide angle lens with soft corners that could double as a boat anchor? We've got something for you!

The Olympus FCON-T02 rivals Nikon and Canon 8-15mm circular fisheye lenses for image quality, only it's incredibly lightweight and inexpensive. Put it behind a dome port for stunning over-unders and wide angle photography with zoom through. You can even shoot some macro up to 30mm equivalent with the lens attached.

The best news? Unlike your wide angle wet lens, this is an accessory that you'll want to use above water too. Double the pleasure- double the fun. Available now.

Ikelite compact point-and-shoot housings for Sony RX100 and Canon PowerShot

If you're looking for a full-featured yet lightweight housing for a high-end point-and-shoot, look no further.

Compact Housings

Sony Cyber-shot RX100 VII

Sony's latest in the RX100 series doesn't disappoint. We're happy that the latest VII model fits into the same housing as the prior generation RX100 VI housing so that you can pick up the latest technology if you choose to buy a back-up camera.

Canon PowerShot G7 X III

The G7 X series is beloved among underwater photographers and the new Mark III is no exception. This new housing is flying off the shelves and shooters are loving the camera's 24-100mm zoom lens, 4K UHD video resolution, and large 1"-type CMOS sensor.

Canon PowerShot G5 X II

The G5 X camera was completely redesigned into a pocket compact very similar to its sibling the G7 X III only with a slightly longer 24-120mm zoom reach. The housing for the G5 X II is shipping now.

Ikelite trim weight system for DSLR and mirrorless underwater housings

A trim weight system is critical for smooth video and reducing arm fatigue.

Trim Weight System

This has been a bestseller in 2019 for its lightweight and affordable approach to trimming out your system. Large dome ports are essential for sharp wide angle but cause the front of your housing to be more buoyant than the back. Enter the Trim Weight Rail System.

It attaches without tools and adjusts for perfect balance front-to-back. The best part is that, unlike with other trim systems, you don't have to travel with the actual trim weights. Just attach a standard dive weight when you set up at your destination. Shipping now.

Ikelite DS Link TTL Converter

TTL strobe exposure is more important now than ever, and it happens to be the most accurate it has ever been... as long as you're using an Ikelite converter!

DS Link TTL Converters

TTL strobe exposure was a given in the film days and considered by some to be a relic once we moved into digital. That was 2002. Since then we pioneered and perfected digital TTL underwater.

If you're not shooting TTL with your DSLR or mirrorless camera, you're missing out. Literally. You're missing shots as you reach out to fiddle with your strobes' power dials. It's well known that the most important element of photography is being able to pull the trigger at the right time, and only TTL strobes allow you to focus on that objective.

Once trapped inside of our housings, we've brought our proprietary TTL circuitry out into the open with our DS Link external TTL converters for DS strobes. An external converter can move with you from system to system and allows you to easily switch between TTL and manual exposure if you really have to.

Available with Ikelite ICS-5 or Nikonos N5 style plugs for use with a variety of manufacturers' housings. A range of DS Link TTL Converters are available to support Nikon, Canon (coming December 2020), Sony, Olympus, and Panasonic TTL protocols.

Airplane Graveyard by Brandi Mueller

Share your passion mixed with theirs- the perfect gift for the WWII history buff on your list.

The Airplane Graveyard

Ambassador Brandi Mueller (@brandi_underwater) is an authority on underwater wreck photography and some of her most exclusive images have been collected in this historical coffee table book.

At the end of WWII, around 150 American airplanes, all veterans of the Pacific war, were dumped in the lagoon of Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands. Brandi has dived to depths of 120 feet to capture rare images of these forgotten war birds, many looking as if they could still take off and return to the war-torn skies at any moment.

This book makes a great gift for WWII aficionados. Buy The Airplane Graveyard at Amazon.com.

We had a great time at the show this year and hope to see you next year in New Orleans, November 4-7, 2020.
