Alex’s love of photography, first found in a high school dark room, has developed into the most important aspect of her life. She views the camera as her tool, which has the power to make people feel something and therefore bring about change. It gives her a voice to share, relate, teach, inspire and unite. These are the driving factors when it comes to everything she creates behind the lens.
California born and raised, Alex has gone through the motions as a media student, freelance photographer, videographer & writer, small business owner, employee of corporate production houses, sailor, and diver. Those years of hard work built her skills to the point of gaining the independence to travel and the ability to combine her passion of photography with her love for the ocean. For the last four years Alex has been living on the high seas full-time as a sailor, capturing and retelling stories from both above and below the sea. Currently, she helps produce, shoot and edit a YouTube show for ‘SV Delos’, a 53 foot sail boat that has been traveling around the world for the last decade. With a dive compressor onboard and her Canon EOS 5D Mark IV (in an Ikelite housing of course!) she’s had the opportunity to explore and interact with the ocean on a daily basis.
The next year holds many opportunities, but her goals so far include designing and publishing first photography book, finishing the post production on a mini series about sailing in the Arctic Circle, earning her PADI Scuba Instructor certification, and even purchasing her own boat! Regardless of how these paths play out, the one constant will be that Alex will always have her camera in hand and her fire to share her Blue-Vue with the world will undoubtedly burn as bright as ever.
