Initially I was using the classic Nikon 105mm f/2.8G VR on my Nikon D7000 and later with the FTZ adapter when I switched to mirrorless Nikon Z6. Once I upgraded to the Z6II I decide I would move all my lenses from FX to Z mount. So the Nikon NIKKOR Z MC 105mm f/2.8 VR S was added to my arsenal.
The new lens is slightly lighter, noticeably sharper, and eliminates the need for an adapter and extra port extensions. The images below highlight the impressive range this lens can handle, from f2.8 to f32, even though we rarely shoot below f4 underwater.
