Roy German Photo

Roy German was just recently certified to scuba dive and has already "got his feet wet" with underwater photography. He uses a Canon 40D with Ikelite Housing and Substrobe DS125.

When practicing underwater photography be sure to pay attention to your buoyancy, respect other divers and the reef, and remember to keep an eye on your gauges!

Clark Johnston Photo

Clark Johnston took the above photo in Bonaire using a Canon G9 in an Ikelite housing with a Substrobe DS125. Clark recommends this set-up as a lighter option when faced with airline luggage and weight restrictions.

For best results with the Canon G9, try Av aperture priority or Tv shutter priority mode. Set the camera on compulsory flash and set your Substrobe to TTL.

Adam Weisblatt Photo

Adam Weisblatt took this photo in Ft. Lauderdale using a Canon G9 in a non-Ikelite housing with the AutoFlash AF35.

The AutoFlash AF35 attaches directly to the bottom of most underwater housings from Canon, Olympus and Sony.

Hans (Su, Hang) Photo

This picture was submitted by Hang Su from P.R. of China. It was taken last year in Sipadan, Malaysia with a Canon 5D in Ikelite housing with 8" dome port and Substrobe DS125.

The 8" dome is the perfect compliment to housings for full frame cameras like the Canon 5D and the Nikon D700.

Josh Vance Photo

Josh Vance took this photo while stationed as a Marine off Okinawa, Japan. He uses a Canon S5 IS in Ikelite TTL housing with a Substrobe DS51.

The DS51 is a versatile and compact strobe, perfect for macro and portrait photography. For a wider angle of coverage, add a second DS51 or a DS160 with dual sync cord.

Ricardo Peralta Photo

The photo at left was taken by Ricardo Peralta with an Olympus point-and-shoot with Ikelite housing and AutoFlash AF35.

External lighting is essential to bring out the true colors of the underwater world. The AF35 is the easiest way to add flash to any compact point-and-shoot system.
