All functions of the camera are accessible, except the print button, in this corrosion free clear polycarbonate molded housing. The flash built into the camera operates fine in the housing with the included diffuser, but an optional DS series strobe placed farther from the lens improves the photographs by producing better coverage and reducing the illumination of particles in the water.

Removable external color filters #6441.32 for tropical blue water and #6441.72 for green water settings provide color correction in sunny conditions up to approximately 80ft (24m). For use without a flash. Filters sold separately.

For optimum lighting underwater an optional external strobe (flash) is recommended. Ikelite strobes are brighter, recycle faster and offer wider coverage than the camera's flash. Being farther from the camera lens, the strobe aids in reducing the illumination of particles in the water which helps to eliminate backscatter.

An external port adapter is required for the use of accessory wide-angle and close-up lenses. Order the #9306.81 for use with 67mm threaded lenses such as the Ikelite W-20, Inon Type II, and Epoque lenses. Choose the #9306.80 adapter for use with Inon bayonet mount lenses.
