Total Submersion 2006 Trip Report

Grand Cayman proved to be a very agreeable place to do a week's work for the Ikelite crew. As proud sponsor of the PADI Total Submersion event, we were thrilled to share in the attendees' enthusiasm for diving & underwater photography. Ikelite Representatives Bob & Rhonda Stubbs, David Haas & Jean Brigham were on-site to put camera systems in peoples' hands & offer photo tips. We were met with excitement and rewarded with great pictures from many underwater photo first-timers!

Sunset House is an old haunt for the divers at Ikelite, and it's obvious why PADI has chosen it as the location for their annual Total Submersion event. Easy shore diving, the gorgeous "Sunset Reef", and a cheerful dive staff makes Sunset House perfect for experimenting with underwater photography. We were glad to have our cameras ready when we saw turtles, octopi, and a spotted eagle ray right off-shore!

In addition to the daily boat dives & PADI land-based activities, Ikelite staff provided "around the clock" assistance to the many divers interested in digital still photography & digital video. We "suffered" many late hours at My Bar discussing camera systems and photo techniques. The week was rounded out with informal digital photo seminars & shore dives with Ikelite systems. Photos & videos were displayed via projector during evening events & cocktail parties.
