These cords connect Ikelite SubStrobes to Ikelite housings or Ikelite TTL Adapters.
TTL compatible with all Ikelite film and digital TTL housings. Older cords look similar, but can not power the TTL circuitry in the housing. Do NOT connect a non-TTL strobe. |

When to Use: These are 5-conductor TTL sync cords intended for use only with compatible TTL systems. Examples are: Nikonos IV & V cameras; film cameras in non-Ikelite housings; or D-SLR cameras used with compatible non-Ikelite TTL adapters & housings. For all other uses we recommend the special sync cords described in the above section. Special Note: If it is necessary to use these sync cords with non-TTL digital camera systems, the camera hot shoe must be modified according to the instructions found here. | |||

Protective caps are available for sync cords. These are machined from black Delrin, apply almost no squeeze to the "O" ring, and allow connector attachment on both ends so one $10 cap accommodates both ends of the sync cord. |

Some European manufacturers have taken the liberty to provide a "revised" Nikonos bulkhead that does not have the two spring type contacts of a genuine Nikonos design. These sockets may destroy a plug like ours which is designed to Nikonos specifications. |
