We had postponed our plans after seeing promises for a compact housing from several other suppliers, but their housings do not offer the convenience of a handle system, the ability to easily add SubStrobes that are compatible with the Sony flash system, or the "comfort factor" of our clear molded housings.

This housing is surprisingly small and has controls for most camera functions. The complete system with camera weighs just over 7 pounds. Removable external UR-Pro filter is included.

Push buttons control the zoom, AE lock, meter button, and white balance on side of lens. Push buttons on back provide the info button, menu, and five position menu pad.

Top controls provide on/off, exposure compensation button, mode dial, and the tricky jog dial. We even included a shutter release control on the side.

A special Slave Sensor is included and installed inside the housing, wired to a bulkhead for attaching our new digital strobes with a sync cord. The camera flash is blocked by the housing.

The base provides a stable platform when housing is not used, but removes instantly to provide a lower profile and allow camera removal.

The housing is molded of corrosion free clear polycarbonate and operates safely to 200 feet. The Release Handle system allows easy attachment and removal of SubStrobe mounting arms at the touch of a button.

Housing measures 7" wide including knobs; 12" wide with the removable handle bar attached; 8" high including the removable base; and 8.5" deep including knobs and port with glass lens. Optional add-on lenses can not be utilized because of the very large diameter of the Sony lens.
