dSLR Housing Precautions and Revisions
All knob set screws must be checked to be sure they remain tight. Lever type knobs like the shutter release utilize a big set screw with a vinyl cap. A small slit can be cut in th end of the vinyl cap so hex head wrench can be inserted. Set screw must be tightened on the flat of the shaft.

The tray mounting blocks in the bottom of the housing have a stamped hard rubber surround glued to bottom of housing to prevent the nuts from loosening, but we suggest checking that the nuts remain tight.

Tray mount blocks

Slotted set screw Hex head set screw Slotted head set screw shown at left as used in early housings can loosen and spin on the shaft, preventing operation of the control. Be careful to find the flat of the shaft when tightening. If loose enough, worst case scenario would be the knob and shaft can be pulled completely out of the housing leaving an unplugged hole.
Gear assembly
Current production utilizes a hex head set screw that penetrates a hole in the shaft, locking it in place, and the flat on the shaft for the knob set screw is much deeper. These new replacement shaft and gear assemblies are available no charge directly from us, or the housing can be returned to us for update.
