  • Camera will "Reset to Default" settings when turned off unless this choice is turned off in the menu.

  • Set ISO to lowest setting, Auto ISO is not recommended.

  • White Balance set to Auto.

  • Select Manual Exposure Mode, then Set Shutter Speed to 1/100 of a second. Aperture to f/5.6

  • Select Menu, then Camera, then External Flash icon, then External Flash, then OK

  • Select Menu, then Camera, then lightning Bolt/Slow, then lightning Bolt Slow 1, then OK

  • Depress the Flash Button, then select lightning Bolt and SLOW

When camera is set to Macro Mode and you are shooting subjects close-up, set the camera's Aperture to its smallest opening (largest number). Do not use Macro Mode for photos more than two feet away from the camera.

When using zoom lens at focal lengths greater than 100mm, the Shutter Speed should be increased to 1/200th of a second.

Set Image Resolution to the Highest JPG format available. Higher resolution settings are required for printing. High resolution images can easily be reduced in size with software and retain their original quality. A low resolution image can be enlarged with software, but much of the quality will be lost.
