YS-50, YS-60 & YS-90 Comparisons

Any claim that these Sea & Sea strobes provide 105 x 95 degree coverage, which would be adequate for a 15mm lens, is absolutely ridiculous. The intensity difference at only 90 degree coverage is more than two f/stops. Following chart compares these strobes to the Ikelite SubStrobe 50:

These strobes certainly do NOT provide even 90 degree coverage using the accepted standard of one f-stop difference for claimed coverage.

Note that the TTL slave sensor mode of the Sea & Sea YS-90 must be triggered by a more powerful strobe for proper operation. This is why our wireless TTL Slave Sensor is offered as a separate device.

Our Substrobe DS-51 recycles faster and provides more flashes per set of batteries while providing identical coverage and intensity.
