Operation of both lights at the same time will greatly reduce battery life. Discontinue operation of the fluorescent light when the batteries become weak to avoid premature blackening of the lamp. The "U" shape of the switch contact can be adjusted if a light will not turn on or off. Correct space between the "U" contact and the flat contact beneath it is about 1/16". The light will not turn on if this space is too great; and the light will not turn off if the contacts are touching. The fluorescent lite power contacts touch the two screw heads in the body to transfer power to the circuit board at the bottom of the light case. Check that they are bent slightly towards the batteries. To replace the fluorescent lamp: Loosen the screw holding the fluorescent bulb top contact so the contact can be lifted and rotated out of the way; then grasp the bulb pins with small pliers and pull the bulb out of the body. Insert a piece of heavy paper between the bulb and the body to keep from scratching the body while sliding the new bulb into the body as far as it will go. Note that the bulb pins must be oriented side-to-side for proper contact. Pull the paper out after inserting the new bulb. Mini-C Fluorescent does not need lubricant on the "O" ring. The "O" ring must be positioned on the step of the clear Mini-C lens where it will contact the lite body when closed, then place module COMPLETELY inside the ring cap. Maxi-C Fluorescent will open and close easier with lubricant on the "O" ring. Be careful that the "O" ring is down in the bottom of the recess before closing. |
