My love of water goes back as far as I can remember. I’m sure growing up around the Chesapeake Bay and watching the TV series, The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau influenced me. But, it was a wonderful Dad who saw my attraction to water who opened my path to where I am today. He bought me new fins every summer as I outgrew the old ones and signed me up for scuba class when I was old enough. Paying that gift forward, I’ve endeavored to do the same for my daughter, Caitlin Eversmier, who is developing her own passion for underwater photography.

Over the years, I’ve traveled the world to some amazing places with my underwater cameras. I have shared my images as a scuba instructor, aquatic naturalist and as a guest speaker with many diverse groups. My most rewarding work has come from a niche I created photographing near my home in Maryland in the murky water of the Chesapeake Bay. Many of these images have been published by local news organizations and used by government agencies and environmental groups to show others why our waters need to be protected.

I’ve been using Ikelite products since I started diving in 1978 and selling them for over 37 years. From my first compass and dive light to my current four housings and six strobes, I’ve come to rely on Ikelite for their affordable and dependable products and great customer service.

My most requested photo for environmental use: a black seabass next to a reef ball in an oyster sanctuary in the Chesapeake Bay. Normally I'm working in 1-8 feet visibility; it was an exceptionally clear day when I took that photo.
