I knew that I wanted to teach people to dive ever since I was a little kid, but my first dive wasn't until about 1996. I was an instructor about 1 1/2 years later. At the time this photo was taken, I had just finished my PADI Advanced course with about 15 or so dives under my belt. Its amazing how a shot on my third u/w photo attempt is still my favorite even after shooting dozens more rolls on the Aquashot and over a hundred more on a housed SLR. The policy of "keep it simple stupid" obviously pays off in a field like u/w photography. I am now employed by a dive shop in Atlanta and attend college full time pursuing a degree in aquaculture.
The composition of this shot was probably due to a combination of beginner's luck and expert advice from my instructor. With regards to color, use of light, and picture quality, all the credit goes to the Aquashot.
