![]() Photo by:Jason O'Rourke ![]() Dealer: Bamboo Reef San Francisco, CA ![]() This photograph was taken deep in an oil rig (Edith) offshore of Huntington Beach, California. We initially had planned to go to the wreck of WWWI destroyer USN Moody, but conditions there were poor. We moved instead to the rig which stood in 165 ft of water. The structure closely resembled an underwater Eiffel Tower and was heavily encrusted with life. The metridium anemones dominated the bottom depths of the rig: the area from the bottom at -165 up to -140 (or 15 ft beyond the official depth rating of the Aquashot). I stayed long enough to take 3 frames then ascended. This photo was taken with an Aquashot 3e, the water correcting lens, the strobe, and using Kodak Gold 200 APS film. ![]() Jason O'Rourke ![]() ![]() |
